Plot: Eric Roberts' character was simply unlikable. He's irresponsible, egotistical, and naive, believing he can get away with betraying a highly influential man in the town. He creates a judgmental view and runs with it despite having only one-tenth of the complete knowledge. He instinctively decides George is a villain and goes undercover to reveal his beliefs and turn Diane against her family. Who does he believe he is? He is an outsider who is unfamiliar with Romanian culture or Diane's relationship with her family. When she objects with his behavior, Diane says, "What are you, the conscience of the world?" When was the last time you cared about (*all of this*)?" She inquires as to why he is behaving in this manner.
