The Cool Surface: A writer who has finished his manuscript in the wilderness makes his way back to Hollywood. He is still smarting from the suicide of his lover and the negative reviews his publisher gave his book, but he can't help but be attracted by the toxic relationship of the neighbor pair. He eventually steps in and starts dating the girl, writing a new novel on their violent relationship, which was started by his irrational jealously of her acting career and her friends.
