Plot: The film tells the story of a young girl with a difficult Puritan mother and an absentee father who is a prostitute. She had an unusual attachment to the toys given to her by her father, and even into her adult life she would take them to bed with her, much to the chagrin of her new husband. While her husband seeks solace in other women, the heroine finds her own solution to the problem of her frigidity. She becomes a prostitute and only takes care of a strange older man who calls her "baby" and asks her to call him "daddy." She calls out. All this leads to a very predictable, but touching, tragic encounter with her biological father.
